Lady In Waiting

She sits in the corner, subdued and dismayed
irate at the tear in the dress that she made
as she waits for her suitor (she's waited for years)
she sings songs to herself while she holds back her tears
and another year passes, she's gone a bit mad
though she talks to the walls, she'll  now never be sad
and she'll never be lonely, not ever again
with sanity absent her life can begin

The Villain

There comes a time when every man
must set aside a cunning plan
and cultivate with wicked glee
a sordid plot so dastardly,
that not a hero in the land
could hope to have the upper hand
nor save the melancholy maid
from fiendish traps so cruelly laid

There comes a time one must devise
mischievous dealings fueled by lies
within a lair one must abide
in labyrinthine seclusion hide
and minions hire, kill, promote
a right hand man, who’s so cutthroat
his own sweet mother sick in bed
at your behest he’d bash her head

for every man there comes a day
when all that’s good and bright and gay
has caused something inside to snap
and tire of this happy crap
and wants to see the kingdom fall,
the hero slain, the princess bawl
to glorify a life of crime
and for this villain, now’s the time!

The Creature

 By: Sara Raymond

They say she came to us from beyond the stars

To bring us the gift of her presence

She is many-eyed, she is, and the colors of them are myriad

Not only can she see left and right

And up and down and near and far,

But she can see in other directions as well

She can see inside and out and at all places at once

She can see what is coming and what has gone,

Long before the rest of us have even heard about its existence

She sees other things as well that we cannot comprehend

There are epic poems written of her beauty,

But no one could clearly tell you what she looks like

All we ever see is her smile

 Teeth like jagged glass

 Though pearly as perfection.

Her smile cuts a heart in two

We would fear her,

If only the sickening, unnatural love for her would wane.

We are enthralled by her

Though she never leaves her paradise,

Her tomb, she is seen at all times.

 Though we close our eyes

She is still there smiling, motionless

She loves us all
Her love is killing us one by one

"Her smile cuts a heart in two."
